Performance Stamping LLC has built its reputation by meeting the tough demands of the automotive industry. As a result of our commitment, our expertly honed processes are designed to meet 6 Sigma quality requirements, while enabling us to manage tight delivery schedules.
The featured Cam Cover Baffle is the result of an intense collaboration between engineering departments; together, we determined the most optimum part design, and selected efficient metal stamping and assembly techniques to streamline the manufacturing process.
Using customer-provided AutoCAD and Solidworks data, Performance Stamping engineers designed the required progressive stamping dies and assembly tooling needed to manufacture the high-volume automotive assembly order. The initial fastening process required spot welds to join the components, so Performance Stamping introduced an in-die mechanical joining system to both simplify assembly and reduce the overall cost per piece.
Depending on our Zeiss programmable CMM and Minister precision stamping machines to deliver quality products, Performance Stamping ensures that each critical attribute of our metal stampings upholds tight tolerances and exceeds our clients' expectations. Performance Stamping LLC is a trusted source for deep drawn metal stampings; using an array of materials, including stainless steels (200, 300 & 400 series), low carbon cold rolled steels, pre-coated, PVC coated, aluminum, brass, bronze, copper, Inconel, and monel, we remain committed to serving diverse industries with equally diverse requirements.
Performance Stamping was recently contracted by a large OEM customer to examine their deep draw tooling, which had been creating tears and wrinkles (pictured above). From our impressive inventory of mechanical and hydraulic presses, Performance Stamping selected a press that provided variable slide velocity—in conjunction with proper lubrication, the tooling provided parts in spec, and reduced inventories, lead time, and scrap generation.
Projects such as this one are not uncommon for Performance Stamping. With over 60 years of experience, OEMs continue to choose Performance Stamping to meet their unique metal stamping needs.
Performance Stamping LLC has been providing half-hard steel side arms to the appliance industry for over 3 decades, and is proud to be an established name in compound stamping. Compound dies can produce complex coined, drawn, or formed shapes all in one operation, which often provides large cost savings when compared with progressive die work-especially for lower-volume, shorter program, projects. With this in mind, we aim to provide our clients with the highest-quality and lowest-cost process for their stamping requirements.
Performance Stamping has invested in Minster Heavy Stampers, featuring 600-ton limits and 144" beds, because we understand the importance of the press frame and how it reacts under the strain of compound/blanking operations. Our commitment to high-quality equipment enables us to uphold tight, flat tolerances, so our clients can fully benefit from the compound stamping process.
